Fruit Filled Mama

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

As a Christian mom, there are times when I have to step back and ask myself: “Am I loving? Am I joyful? Am I peaceful? Am I patient? Am I kind?” If we are not modeling these things in our children’s lives, then who is? Possibly no one and this is the sad truth. We must rise up to be role models in our children’s eyes. We must model the attributes of Christ and live out his commands to love without hesitation and to live life for Jesus.

Will we fail at times? Absolutely, 100 %, yes. But trying and grasping the rope of God’s grace for ourselves along the way is part of our role as leaders in our homes. Recognizing God’s grace in your life can be a testimony in and of itself.

Living out love, joy, peace, patience, and kindness are not small tasks. But they kickstart from small choices made daily. If we can begin to practice the Fruits of the Spirit with rote rigor until they become a part of us, then it is worth the workout.

A Fruit-Filled Mama gets the source of her water and sunlight from the reading of God’s Word daily. In this way, she is able to glean wisdom and discernment. She is able to utilize the resources of God’s Word and scripture and impress them upon her children’s hearts.

So I encourage you today to pencil in the Fruits of the Spirit at the top of your to-do list. Allow them to trickle down into your daily tasks and everyday living. Pray that God would give you the steadfast endurance to implement love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control and that the Holy Spirit would gently remind you of these things.
